LocationBellevue is situated in the department of Morbihan close to the town of Guemene-sur-Scorff (see red cross below). With a drive of about half an hour to the southern coastline, visitors are spoiled by the abundance of fine beaches. Adjacent to the prosperous port of Lorient is Larmor Plage with its extensive fine sands and views across the estuary of the little fishing village of Port Louis. Packed with character and charm it is easy to see why this is a sought-after domicile for wealthy Bretons. Head west along the coast and you will be thrilled by beach locations such as Fort Bloque and Guidel Plage - complete with futuristic sun-trap houses - before arriving at Le Pouldu, nestling at the mouth of the River Laita. Upstream is the oak and beech forest of Carnoet and the town of Quimperle, which stands on the border between Finistere and Morbihan. Just over the border in Finistere is the
artists haven of Pont-Aven, famous for its association with the painter Paul
Gauguin and richly populated by art galleries. |
